Hello,
Bit of a newby ....
Is there a package for only the FR24feed without all the ballast?
I want to use Virtual Radar and forward to FR24, VR is using RTL1090 (which gives me better coverage than DUMP1090).
Also I lost one of my configurations on Raspberry Pi, so how do I prevent creating a new shared key?
PS .. for those how find it interesting; I try to move from Raspberry Pi (debian) to miniPC BBEN MN1S (Windows 10) just because RTL1090 is doing better than DUMP1090.
PS .. I think it would be better to have a plain FR24feed for those how already use DUMP1090 or any other software (for example I used different DUMP1090 than included).
Thanks,
Matthijs

This is a Linux question rather than a FR24 one - but I'm sure there are much greater minds on here than on the Linux Mint forum to help me.
I have a couple of Laptops with the Windows FR24 installed. But they are both triple boot (one is Win7/Win10/Linux Mint and the other a Hackintosh with Win7/Linux Mint/OSX Sierra). Both can feed from Win7.
So I wanted to install FR24 on both on their Linux sides so if I was using it the feed wouldn't be cut off - always presuming it had the dongle plugged in.
So I've put it on one - downloaded and installed using the package installer. But it installed everything as "root". So when I came to set it up it couldn't access the .ini file, logs etc so lots of errors trying to save my feeding key and so on. I then used chmod to change permissions here and there and now it works fine.
But surely there must be a way to make it install as me - my default user - rather than root? I'm not fully adept with Linux (OSX person) and before I put it on another laptop I'd like some guidance. Thank you in eager anticipation!

Hi all,
I used to host a FR Feed box but due a power outage the unit burnt and was returned to FR24. However they didn't ask me to ship back the antenna and cables.
So, to keep contributing with this community, I've bought again a DVB-T Receiver to use. My idea was to connect the antenna that is already mounted to this new receiver but it didn't work!
Do you have any idea of what may be happening? Any suggestions of tests that I shall perform?
Does the DVB-T Stick have enough power to get the antenna signal or an amplifier is recommended?
My best regards,

Hello!
Since a few days I am encountering problems with the FR24 web frontend, especially with the menu bar: Clicking on an item (e.g. "Data / History") opens the corresponding submenu, but when thereafter clicking on a specific menu item (e.g. "Airports") nothing happens! Right click and chosing "open in a new tab" will do it as a workaround, but that is very inconvenient. Also clicking on the FR24 logo in the upper left corner does not reload the page as normally.
I am using Firefox with latest updates and the ingenious NoScript-AddOn which limits the execution of JavaScipt only to those from whitelisted origins. Since many years I have blacklisted scripts from google-analytics.com. All other JavaScript sources required by FR24 are manually whitelisted. Today I found out that the only way to make the FR24 menues work normally is to whitelist google analytics too.
Why??? I do not want to start a discussion why I want to blacklist google analytics, that is not the topic. But in all the years of using NoScript I never detected a webpage with a deficiency of basic functionality caused by blocking JavaScripts from google analytics!!! That includes also FR24 until a few days ago …
Why are the Java scripts from google analytics now required for the functionality of the FR24 web menues??? Do you want to analyze every menu click we make?!?!? ;)
I am a paying user with a Gold subscription plan. And I am not willing to whitelist google-analytics.com permanently only for making the FR24 web frontend work normally! So please return to normal web frontend functionality without depending on the google analytics scripts, as it was before.
Regards,
Jörg

Hi,
I'm trying to see if I have something that might work....
I have two USB DVB-T Sticks Both from Hauppauge. One is WinTV MiniStick (55009 LF Rev A1G3) the other is a WinTv-HVR 900. Can one of them be used?
I tried to set it up on a Raspberry pi 3, with solution 1 via SSH to my pi. I can now connect to my ip:8754 and see that page.
It says:
FR24 Link: Connected via UDP
FR24 Radar Code: T-EKCC35
Local IP(s): 192.168.1.42
Aircraft Tracked:
(ModeS & ADS-B) 0
Aircraft Uploaded: N/A
Receiver: dvbt, Connected
MLAT running: N/A
Why doesn't it track and why does fr24-page show "No devices found" when I go to activate a new receiver?
Let me know what info you might need to guide/help me. ;-)
BTW. it's the first thing I do on my Raspberry.
Thanks in advance.

Just got my receiver and set it all up. I am not getting any green or yellow lights at the Ethernet port on the back. I have checked the cable by plugging my laptop in, getting internet, and switching cables, but still no lights. In my router I added the receiver by using the mac address so it has an ip address and I can ping the receiver.
I have contacted support but it just seems weird that I get no Ethernet lights but can ping it.

Google Browser on Windows 10 machine. For a few days I've been getting a message box in the middle of the screen which I always need to close to see the map. It is headed "Live flight not found". The Flight EK35 is currently not tracked......" with two option buttons. "No, close pop-up" and "Yes, show flight history". One the "NO" button is selected all is normal.
I seem to remember a couple of weeks ago looking for this flight but I can't seem to get rid of this message box appearing each time I start FR24.
I have tried resetting the FR24 options but I still get this message box when I open FR24 on the PC and laptop.
Can anyone offer a solution to stop this occurring, please.
TIA

Hello,
I have just started running FR24 on RPi, I wanted to be able to get commandline access, which I can do if I plug the Pi into a keyboard and monitor. I want this access from my laptop remotely it is running on the same network. The command I used was
Code:
sudo ssh 10.0.0.107
This connects but requests a root password I have tried "root" which is the old standby and also just plain old Enter with no luck. Can anyone help

I've installed the piaware package on my Rpi which I understand uses a beast splitter component, I have it working and feeding Flightaware from the Beast and now want to feed FR24.
Do I have to do anything different when installing the appropriate FR24 package or just follow the instructions given elsewhere?

I have just finished and fine tuned my 16 element coco antenna, it is currently on a dodgy rigged mast and is about 3 metres of the ground at the base of the array. As the landlord lives upstairs putting it on the roof is not an option.
My idea is to fill a drum with concrete with a pipe in the middle and 3 tie points then slide another 7 metre pipe into it with a guy plate to tie back just below the top of the same pipe and also support the riser for the array. Then there are three options
1. A 15 metre run of cable to the pi and dongle.
2 Put the dongle up there and run an active USB cable to it.
3 Build an enclosure and put all the parts up there and just run the power to it.
My current array is made of RG 6 quad 75 ohm which is connected to a 5 metre run of the same RG6, it is then strip tied into 30 centimetres of RG 58 50 ohm that has an MCX on the end of it going into the dongle from jetvision. The reception is far superior to the internal antenna supplied with the dongle with many more hits per day. There was only one place in Brisbane that I could find MCX connectors a specialist Antenna shop and he suggested I make the array and feeder cable from from RG 58. I also wondered what you are all using to amplify and filter your signals.
Thanks and I know this is one of those questions that probably crops up all the time, but it is a good opportunity to listen to the words of wisdom from all of you.

Referring to the attached photo, 3 days ago (Sunday 18z) I switched feeding from a Windows based system to an Rpi, since switching at 3am each day there has been a small break in feeding. As far as I know I haven't had an internet problem.
Any ideas what might be causing this, could the Pi be set to check for updates and stop feeding? It's not the end of the world as there is hardly any traffic at this time of day but I'm just curious

I developed a problem that is now prevalent on two Pi's.
My fr24feed service fails at start up and fails when a manual restart is attempted.
Under status, I am receiving numerous messages. The most notable are:
fr24feed.service: Service hold-off time over, scheduling
fr24feed.service: Start request repeated too quickly.
fr24feed.service: Failed with result 'start-limit-hit'
At what point did these duplicate failures occured....... I don't know, but I would have to assume a system update/upgrade would be most plausible.
My dump1090 functions are operational. My Plane Finder feed does not have issues.

So I found this aircraft today a king air 200 with a blocked reg running a grid pattern at 15350 ft. It took off and landed at OQU which is a mixed military and civilian airport in Rhode Island. The other Day I noticed a cessna 210 running the same grid but only over Marthas Vineyard. Very odd...Anybody have any insight?

Hi, Guys!
I've FR24's Premium version. It's fantastic on PC but not good enough on Mobile.
You know FR24 Premium Android Mobile version is lacking lots of thing like:
It has not Playback, History, ATC Boundaries, Aeronautical Charts, Clouds and Precipitation layers and many more..
Somebody has told me that Android Premium version's update is due in September. So if its coming in September, my question is when? It's 18th September now and so far no update has come.
Last thing is that minimum Aeronautical Charts and Weather layers should be included in Mobile Premium version. It's my request to FR24 to please include these two thing necessarily. For watching Charts and precipitation, we go to our Laptops or desktops and do Login and then we can see these things. But on mobile, you know, we don't need to do lot of processes.

Angela

Hi there,
I have a kiosk setup with a section dedicated to a FlightRadar24 image. I have a silver membership but only the free version turns up on the chromium page. I am able to load FlightRadar on a separate page, but when it is embedded in another page the silver membership features do not show.
Any walkaround solution to this?
Thanks
Brgds,
Sheldon
