Low pass over South East! (777)

Right, new to the forum so i apologise if posted in the wrong place!

On Wednesday 13th August approx 11am-12.30pm, was watching my Neighbour looking skywards, (obviously something attracted his attention) all of a sudden an almighty roar and scream of jet engines! I looked up to see what appeared to be a BA 777 or equivalent, (maybe A300 or 767?) screaming overhead at what looked looked like a ridiculously low height, no more than 2500-3000ft i recon! (an educated guess) I could even see the vapour trails coming off the winglets, same as when they come in to land and shortly afterwards the gear came down.

I'd like to add i live in Borehamwood Herts, which is about 10 mins flying time from Heathrow. Most of the aircraft pass over here between 6-8000ft never any lower. I was Just wondering if it may have had some kind of emergency? Could it have been landing at RAF Northolt in an emergency? Why was it flying so low?

Tried back-tracking on flightradar and couldn't find anything that low at that time. Only thing close was a Cathay Pacific 777 at 5900ft, definitely not that colours were wrong and certainly not low enough.

Would be interesting to find out what it was, any ideas?
