First camera/camcorder for planespotting?

Hey guys,

I'm getting into the hobby of planespotting and instead of using my crappy binoculars, i'd like to use a camera or a camcorder instead. The only problem is i'm not very near a commercial airport (the nearest is East Midalands (EMA/EGNX)) and don't have a very fast way of getting there, only learning to drive at the moment. But there is an airway quite near my house and i can see airplanes quite easily, the only problem is that the planes are usually between 25,000 and 35,000 ft up in the sky.

So i was wondering if you could help to find a good camera or camcorder to watch these planes at this height?
