Icelandair has signed a contract with Row 44, a leader in commercial in-flight broadband service, to equip Icelandair’s fleet with high-speed Wi-Fi.
Icelandair‘s passengers will be able to use their own Wi-Fi-enabled devices to connect to the internet with this exciting new service. The fleet installation is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2012 and to be completed by the autumn of 2013. When the installation is complete, Icelandair will be first North Atlantic airline to operate Wi-Fi on its entire fleet.
“While we currently offer leather seats and personal in-flight entertainment systems for all passengers, this new service will take us to new heights. It will be exciting to take a photo out the window as you’re flying over Iceland and send it to your friends 35,000 feet below!” said Hjorvar Saeberg Hognason, Icelandair General Manager – UK.
This year Icelandair celebrates 75 years of aviation and offers service to Iceland from London Heathrow, Manchester Glasgow and our newest gateway London Gatwick. Connections through Icelandair’s hub at Keflavik International Airport are available to top destinations North America including Boston, New York and Seattle. Only Icelandair allows passengers to stopover in Iceland at no additional airfare.
