Hello together,

i use an odroid with your raspberry script. That works many days long without problems. After last update the fr24feeder doesn-t update and i get an error code -1.

Code:

/var/cache/apt/archives/fr24feed_1.0.16-11_armhf.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

How can i fix this?

Co-Phasing CoCo's with DVB-T's

Remember back in the day, when we had Citizen Band Radio's and to get that extra distance, we used to Co-Phase 2 identical Antenna's approx 10 feet apart?

Can the same apply with CoCo's into a single NooElec DVB-T2 dongle or would it fry the dongle due to too much data coming into it?

I have a good 270 degree coverage with my single CoCo at the rear of my house but I also have a high conifer tree in front yard, which is blocking the remainder 90 degrees and it is impossible for me to push my current antenna any higher and so, I thought about putting an identical CoCo in the front yard and probably Co-Phase the two together into one dongle, so that I have full 360 degrees coverage.

Is it possible?

Air Canada Flight AC549 - Terror Dive makes no sense...!

I have been reading the News Report on Air Canada Flight AC549 and the 'Terror Dive' that they all seem to be reporting - but having looked at the math, something appears incorrect, either the math is incorrect or the Media Companies are making a Mountain out of a Mole Hill.

The reports state this 'Terror Dive' as a drop from FL340 to FL100 in 5 minutes - now by my calculation, yes, a 24,000ft drop due to a Cabin Pressure Issue, however, the media state this took 5 minutes...

Now, when I went to school, there was 5280ft in a mile, so a distance of 4.54 miles - at that rate, the aircraft was only travelling at around 45mph... I would have panicked as well at that speed as it meant it would have stalled long before and likely to have been in an uncontrollable dive..????

After all, if you drive at 60mph, you travel 1 mile per minute and 5 minutes would be 5 miles or 26,400ft

Now, if they mean nmi, there are 6076ft, so a drop of 24,000ft would be only 3.94 miles... or around 39mph... really starting to panic now

So, can anyone explain this? Are the press making a mountain out of a mole hill or am I missing something here?

I wonder if anybody here can help me.
Could anybody please confirm the arrival time of flight MH2 into LHR on the morning of 4th January and the reason for the delay. I have tried on numerous occasions to contact Malaysian Airlines customer services but to no avail.
Thank you
Dennis

I've just been reading a bunch of posts on the FA forums (I don't partake so much there but they do get my data by means of via PlanePlotter network) to see a whole lot of references from users who no longer wish to partake here, tending toward attitude of FR24 forum members, how grumpy their 'SuperMod' is against new users. And how much of a 'Douche' the "higher ups" appear.

I can only but surmise that is in reference to me since I jabber so much compared to most users.

So to anyone finding my replies have fixed issues in the past, who have not bothered to say thanks. You're welcome.

To anyone I've offended by thinking I was too harsh, or abrupt - I appologise.

In reality most of the time where I've been brash and pointed in the direction of an existing post or thread, it is usually in frustration. It's fairly normal for new users to be slammed straight to the forum announcement " !Important: You must read this before you post on forum!" with a bunch of common links and instructions on search for those unfamiliar.

And of those, many are 'sticky' in an attempt to help.

When you monitor the online users for new spam accts being created you can often see this process lasting all of 15seconds before it changes to 'creating thread'. So you can imagine my forehead slapping-ness at times coming through in text.

Anyway. I spent some of my holiday time creating an attempt at a feeder help guide, and a suggestions thread. But so far noone other than 1 user has responded (good or bad).. so I can only but guess it answers everything everyone experienced during their setup processes...?

Please take into account any input I do offer, is just from another uploaders own back and time before judging the community as a whole publicly elsewhere.

Serious Problem With fr24feed on RPI

Hi

I'm getting time sync errors in my fr24feed.log file which look like

2016-02-03 09:43:34 | ERROR: time drift is 1454260023 seconds, resetting dump1090 start time[feed][i]sent 18 AC in 1 packet

The time drift number is different each time and there are normally more than one per line

However, my RPi is correct to the nearest millisecond and not 46 years out like the log suggests

Here are the status flags from fr24

I've done the usual, reboot and shutdown completely then turn back on and nothing changes.

Spotted this B757 operated by TAG Aviation doing circuits around Uluru today on its way from Sydney to Bali. Not quite in the same league but I was once on board an Ansett jet that couldn't land at Alice Springs because a huge freighter plane was parked on the runway so we had to do circuits for about half an hour waiting for it to move. Prawo do informacji o lotach

Witam,
Pozdrawiam.

Can anyone help decode these messages?

Hi all,

I'm specifically looking for parameters that allow me to calculate local atmospheric conditions at the aircraft's position, e.g. I need to know IAS/Heading/Mach number. I have the ADS-B data in parallel, so can calculate temperature, pressure and wind vector from that. Do any of the following (some company internal) type messages contain that info to your knowledge?

First example:
All I know from internet resources is it's a data dump from the DFDR, there's a position Lat/Lon in there (S2350E11648), but none of the other data appears to match altitude/speed or any other parameters.

Hi everyone,
I just started with my pi feeding to fr24 and enabled MLAT. The MLAT Service is started, but variables are stating that "mlat ok = NO". Reason ist UDP-Firewall.
Any suggestions what I need to change, that MLAT is working?
Thanks

Sharing FR24 information

Hello,
I'm writing to ask you about sharing flight informations from Flightrada24.com website.
Is it legal if someone sends position and speed of plane by SMS basing on informations from FR24.com and is having money for it?
Are those informations property of FR24?
Greetings.
