Running Client on Tomato-Based Routers ?

I have an ASUS AC68U router running Tomato. I have full root access into a real Linux shell on the router. The router also has a USB port that I can use for the SDR receiver dongle.

Is the client a binary or just shell scripts? I also have a Raspberry Pi available but I'd like to know if I could just consolidate this.
