FR24 receiver and Vonets wifi dongle

$

Hi.

I would appreciate some help on connecting a Vonets VAP11G wifi dongle to the fr24 receiver.

These days I'm installing my new receiver FR24 and, unfortunately it's difficult to connect the receiver via ethernet cable, so I bought a wifi dongle.

It has operated successfully in the PC, but on the fr24 receiver the Vonets does nothing (connected to Extension USB port and ethernet in the back). It seems the connector does not supply power to the dongle.

What am I doing wrong?

AIB02BG What kind of flight is this?

This airplane started from the Maledives, turned around over the city of Hannover and is now landing in Toulouse.
Was there a mistake of routing with flight radar24? Or was this a long distance test flight of Qatar airline.
Best regards, Petra

Hello everyone..

I am new to this forums and FL24 feeding. I have been tracking adsb planes long time ago using airnav radbox so i have a quite good background about the whole thing.

The problem that i am facing right now is i have installed FL24 feeder using windows 7 and set everthing up and started feeding " T-OKBK8 " and it works just perfect. But after a really short period of time ( lets say 2 hours to 4 ) the program stalles and dony feed anymore to FL24 servers unless i close the application and re-open it again. Let me show you an idea of what the cmd windows terminal shows.

Sent 22 AC in 1 packet
Sent 16 AC in 1 packet ... And so on..

All of a sudden it goes like..

Ping 1
Ping 2

And so on..

So any idea guys why it keep stalling like this?

Many thanks everyone.

Abdullah

Good morning,
I'm trying to run basestation with my usb dongle via ethernet.

The configuration I'm using is Raspberry with FR24FEED. The comunication between FR24 and raspberry is OK.
I select "yes" to "BS" and "RAW" and I'm trying to connect from my PC (in the same LAN), inserting in SBS-3 network configuring IP 192.168.1.216 (raspberry) and port 30003, trying to capture data send on this port but I can't see nothing. why?
I'm expect to see the plane list, but not

Thank's in advice

Hello,

I have a RPi running dump1090 and f24 feeder.
This provides raw data on port 30002.

I want to install dump1090 on computer in the same network.
How do I configure dump1090 to listen to port 30002 through the LAN?

Thanks.

ADS-B USB Dongle

I'm looking to purchase a ADS-B USB Dongle to use with my RPI, and I found one on eBay that seems to be one that would work, but I don't want to go ahead and get it then find it wont work! My main problem being I live in Argentina and my cousin is coming over from the UK, so I'm getting it with him, but it means I can't just get another one if this one doesn't work...

Bit of a problem since I can't post links, but if there is someone willing to have a look, it you go tinyurl[dot]com[slash]oz6r3bw that would take you to the eBay page.

Thanks :)

Accessing FR24 Receiver (URGENT)

After a two hour horrendous Electrical Storm yesterday that took out half the towns electricity for 4 hrs, I have power up and running but cannot get the FR24 receiver back on-line, I have sent TWO emails to support about this but get a standard reply of up to 5 days waiting.

Having gone through all the Diagnostics, testing Power, GPS, Internet Connections etc., I have come to the conclusion either the Cat5 hardware has failed or it has lost its IP address.

I know there is a command to access the config of the box to set DHCP or static but cannot remember it, does anyone know so I can attempt to get it up and running again sooner rather than later...!

Anyone any idea what "test1234" east of the isle of Wight is? It's been there a few days, not moving and it says picked up by F-EGKK1
Could be a real test, but it's showing in the sea and it would seem a long way at zero feet for it to be picked up by a Gatwick station.

my 1st antenna was the so called 8 legged spider using #12 wire.. twas tracking like 140-150nm from my location including all approaching aircraft. Am less than 5 miles from the airport. Now i made another one..the same design but this time im using #14 wire .. what i observed was.. i hardly track planes from 50nm and approaches. BUT it can track distant aircraft like 160-180nm.. Wondering whats the cause of being blind on near aircraft.. Hoping for your kind response regarding.

Tonight EI 272 landed on 33. Then appearing to take off immediately from BHX the same flight but at FL 380 within 2 miles of BHX. Aircraft on runway heading and the trace show a black dotted line. Disappears after about 10 miles north of BHX. This has happened with different flights over the past week or so.

Any ideas?

I have a stock FR24 Kit that is giving excellent results for my location, but it is their kit and so unable to experiment with it or provide any other website with the Data, so looking to invest a little bit of time and money with my own device.

I am ok at making my own antenna, been experimenting with a 8, 6 & 4 element collinear units, all giving reasonable results at various heights... I have a 9m Mast with the FR24 Antenna at the top and the three home made ones are fitted on the mast with 'stand off' arms differing heights.

What I would like to do with a Combiner/Splitter is take the signals from the 3 Home Made antenna into a receiver, but here is the issue, what do I use?

I have a spare laptop with 3x USB ports, so in theory could use 3 devices, however I would prefer just the one and looking for recommendations on which route to go. Also, I note when posters are referring to their kit, I see no mention of how the GPS Receiver is connected into the system...

So, for all you that have built your own, what are your recommendations?

Many thanks for any input you may have.

FRA Airport has equipped ground vehicles with transponders

A couple of days ago, I noticed, that FRA Airport equipped all ground service vehicles with ADS-B transponders. When you have a look, you will see a large number of them over the whole airport area.

But unfortunately, they do have the wrong icon. On other airports (i.e. AMS), the icon of the ground vehicle is like a silver car, in FRA they use the icon for unknown aircraft type.

Any idea, how that can be changed? Do the admins read within this forum, or do they have to be notified on a different way?

Thanks for your help in advance!
