near miss?

Hi,

I've often seen other flights from the airplane window, but none as close as this past Tuesday (August 7th).

I was on flight KL1386, and saw flight PC1170 pass under us at about 13.00 UTC.

Flightradar shows "calibrated" heights of 36,000 and 35,025 feet respectively.

"GPS heights" are about 37,450 and 36,600 feet.

The plane definitely looked closer than 850 feet, what to make of this??

Thanks.

edit: I've now looked at some airplanes in Google earth from about 240 meters up, and it does look as if that may have been the approximate distance.

Looked scary close though.

Gliders

Since a few days ago, gliders seem to have disappeared from FR24. First, form history and speed/altitude graph, now also in live. My settings include visibility:gliders. And in other websites their FLARM tracks still show as usual. Is it a temporary bug, or is FR24 no longer willing to include all air traffic ?

Problems restarting FR24 feeder on Pi

I have been feeding data to FR24 for a number of years using a Pi (with Stretch Lite OS), FA Prostick and DUMP1090-fa. I have recently had to reconfigure my Pi and have reinstalled the FR24 feeder software following the website guidelines, however, when it runs through the configuration stage and I enter my sharing key which I already have, I keep getting an error message (see attached) and the configuration stops.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Nigel

But seems the forums SSL cert has expired :)

I am using windows 10 PC-FR24 Link: Connected via UDP FR24 Radar Code: T-KRSN1 Local IP(s): Aircraft Tracked: (ModeS & ADS-B)47 Aircraft Uploaded:39 Receiver: beast-tcp, Connected MLAT running: N/A Everything seems to be working but I am unable to see anything on the stats page showing that my station is set up and properly configured. Am I missing a step or does it take some time for the process to populate? Program seems to be running in background and FR24 info is in the start up tray. Thanks in advance for any help on getting this completed! :)

Feed different account

Folks,

I am a new feeder to FlightRadar24 but have been feeding FlightAware for over a year now running a Raspberry Pi.

I recently added your feed to my existing FlightAware set up and all is working fine, my online account changed from basic to business.

I may be moving this R-Pi setup to a different location and would prefer it be associated with the other person's FR24 account rather than mine. Do I need to run the script again when set up in different location or is there an alteration I can make in some config file?

Logfile Rotation

Folks,

Few dats ago I added FR24 feed to my existing Flightaware setup on a Raspberry Pi. All seems to be working OK but examining the settings page on <local address>:8754 I notice the logfile mode says keep up to 48 hours, rotate every 24 hours. Location of logfile is correct.

Mine is now nearly 5 days old and around 9MB in size.

FR24 Data sending Config

Folks,

Recently address FR24 feed to my Flightaware set up, also feed ADSBx

Appreciate the workings of computers can be a mystery with so much going on in the background but I like to have a wee bit of an idea what is going on.

Now I know how Flightaware receives its data from my Pi, ADSBx uses socat and I assume FR24 uses /usr/bin fr24feed but where does it get its connection details from?

I know /etc/fr24feed.ini gives my local details but where does it get its remote connection details from? I'm guessing it is something like feed.fr24.com and port 30005

DVT Stick advice

Hi guys, first post and I'm hoping I'm posting in the correct place

I have setup my own radar with the original Raspberry Pi Model B and I just need some advice on DVT sticks.

I have looked at the one Flightradar recommend but a friend of mine has shown me the Flightaware Pro stick which he says is better because it has the 1090Mhz filter built in with an amp.
I have totalled it up and they both cost about the same after shipping and costs of an antenna.
I will be using my radar in a residential area which is built up on one side and farmland on the other. I'm very new to all this so I don't know much about these things.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Local access only! - Flightradar24 receiver config

Since the Flightradar24 receiver software has been updated last, i can no longer check my receiver stats via the modem port forwarded http website.

http://192.168.2.11 works fine, locally via my phone.
http://domain.tld:8011 now gives me: Local access only! (Connecting from another ISP/IP all together.)

I have set this forward, so in case of problems i can reset my receiver.
Now this seems to be blocked in the web server software.

Is there a fix for this or just accept long down times in case of connectivity errors?

Update: RAW FEED connection from Virtual Radar Server luckily still works.

Aircraft registration UA1902 July 31 2018?

Sorry to ask this question here, but I just noticed the chat room does not exist anymore. Can someone with a FR24 subscription please help me find the aircraft registration of United 1902 Houston (IAH)-Guatemala City (GUA) on July 31 2018. Without this registration my flightdiary is incomplete and I forgot to log it earlier.

Because I just created this account I can't add any links, so I hope this works (and is allowed): flightradar24[dot]com/data/flights/ua1902

Thanks a lot!

Access dump1090 via browser

I installed FR24 on my RPi according to the description on the FR24 website and was now trying to access dump1090 features like gmap.html.

But when I want to access Pi-IP:8754/dump1090/gmap.html I get a "Forbidden" error. Basically any page besides / gives that error. Pi-IP:8754/ works though and shows the FR24 settings page. Does anyone know what's wrong, do I have to manually configure dump1090?

BS FEED DOWN PROBLEM

Dear All,
We have FR24 receiver and we are also using data in our private application.
Lasrt one week, we have not been able to get healthy data from receiver for our application.
When we control BS feed on receiver status, it always goes down.
BS_Feed.png you can see our receiver status from attachment.
When we stop and start the receiver, We start to get data from receiver. After a while, it goes down again..

What can be the reason of this down problem? How can I solve this?

Thank you from now on.

No email after setup wizard

I have added a feed to FR24 to my existing Pi running PiAware and Dump1090 using the wizard, or at least I have tried to! I entered my location and email address etc when requested and everything seemed to go OK. However, I have not received an email to enable me to link to my FR24 account and my status is showing OFFline. I double checked the email I entered and know it was correct and am showing a sharing key but no data. Any idea where to look? I assume I have gone wrong someware along the line but don't know where to start.

Thanks

Phil...
