NO DATA problem even if everything is ok but..

Hi folks,
I've a little problem with my Raspberry with flightradar24 feeding.

The daemon is working correctly, nothing on the logs... but sometimes in a completely random behaviour, I saw on the data sharing link on FR24 website that my RADAR is sending NO DATA.

As soon as I log on the Raspberry everything seems to be ok.

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo service fr24feed status -l

but continues to be NO DATA till I reboot the Raspberry.

Two questions:
1) what is the problem and where can I find what's going on ?
2) why the diagnostic says that everything is ok even if the module is sending NO DATA?

Banana Pi / armbian fr24feed not starting

Hi there,

as the FR24 website suggest I got myself a ADS-B USB Dongle R820T2 from jetvision.
Today I flashed the Banana Pi's SD-Card with the latest armbian.

After that, I installed fr24feed as suggested with the bash-script.
Now the service won't start properly, see log.

starting the dump1090-mutability alone works like a charm. Even the little preview using 192.168.2.80/dump1090 works (when dump1090 is running).
Just fr24feed doesn't seem to startup.

Starting it manually as root it just spits out:
Code:

# fr24feed

Can't feed data from windows???

I noticed that my ADSB receiver has stopped feeding data to FR24...

A look at the log files finds some mention that feeding from windows is no longer supported.

My setup:
SDR donggle connected to a raspberry pi to receive that data...
That gets sent over to a windows machine running Virtual Radar so that I can see maps on my local network..
Then Virtual Radar runs a rebroadcast server that the feeder softwar on the rasberry pi connects to to send the data to FR24.

I have been uploading data this way for a very long time.
Now the feeder software refuses to connect to Virtual Radar re-broadcast server.

I know that I can have the feeder connect directly to the receive software (dump???? ) on the Pi.. but then I lose the features I get by running Virtual Radar server.

Is there a way to have both my Virtual Radar server on windows AND the feeder software on the Pi connect to the receiver program at the same time.

I would really like to keep feeding data into FR24 in the future.

Thanks

Virtual Radar Server

Hi

Wonder if anyone can help. So, recently migrated from being a Windows feeder to a Pi feeder. Pi seems to all be setup OK and feeding to FR24.
Using an SBS1-er via Ethernet as my "radio receiver" as such.
I have enabled the Raw Data Output (30002,30334) and also the SBSfeed 10001.
I can run Basestation on my Windows PC, connect to the pi on 192.168.0.171:20072 and Basestation is running 100% fine!
So, decided to use the port 30334 and setup Virtual Radar Server as per the instructions from FR24 paperwork. This is where the problem begins. I am not able to connect and receive data from the Pi on port 30334. The VRS software keeps trying to connect but after a second reverts back to disconnected. This goes from connecting to disconnected to connected again every 2 or 3 seconds.

Any ideas??

Thanks Neil

Hi

I've just bought a passive 1090 in-line filer for my basic Rpi setup but was wondering where in the chain is best to put it, near the antenna or the usb stick?

Any advice would be great thanks.

I would like to know where I can find help about such things as feed sent 1,2 AC

Is there a help page anywhere as s/w is only as good as its Help file IMHO!

iOS app - connection port

Hi all,

I have a quick question:

I am using the ipad with the flightradar24 app at work where internet is heavily restricted.
However, the app opens and lets me view live traffic, and even lets me move around (loads the map of the earth).
Ads are showing up, however pressing on a flight fails to load the image of the aircraft.

My question is: On what PORT is the iOS app communicating with the server? Any hints?

Irregular feed

So I got my raspberry to work after my SBS feed was cancelled. However - my feed seems highly irregular.

But every time I look at my status, I'm showing online and there's a lot of traffic. right now I'm showing 38.1% uptime.

The current photograph shown for aircraft registration VH-TAY on Live Flight Tracker is of a Boeing 737 in Qantas livery. This aircraft is no longer with Qantas and has had a change of owner. The actual current registration of VH-TAY is on a Piper PA-44-180 Seminole, currently flying in Victoria, Australia as a private aircraft.

No lan on new pi feeder setup

Hello,

Looking for some advice on setting up a pi feeder with a pi3 b+

I've followed the instructions on the site for using Win32DiskImager to write the Pi24 image to the sd card. I have also done some searching on the forum and externally to see if anyone else has had similar problems.

The problem I have is I am not getting any lan lights on the pi. I have tried different ethernet cables and ports and the image seems to work fine as the red and green activity lights on the pi look promising.

Accessed the gui on my router and it cant see the pi: I have no ip or mac address so im assuming the router is the problem, not the pi or the image? Do I need to open or forward specific ports?

I am using a TalkTalk router, newest version FAST5364 3.00

Any help or links to support would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Opensky-network feeder on Pi24 causes failure of fr24feed

$
0
0
Reason of Failure:
The opensky-network feeder's binary is named openskyd-dump1090. The fr24feeder detects this as some version of dump1090, and does NOT start its integral dump1090-mutability when fr24feed is restarted or RPi is rebooted. This results in failure of all feeders.

Workaround:
Rename the opensky binary and remove dump1090 part of binary's name, so it changes from openskyd-dump1090 to openskyd. Change also the binary's name in file opensky-feeder.service.

Following commands will do the job:

Code:

sudo mount -o remount,rw /

sudo mv /usr/bin/openskyd-dump1090  /usr/bin/openskyd

sudo sed -i 's/openskyd-dump1090/openskyd/g'  /lib/systemd/system/opensky-feeder.service

sudo systemctl daemon-reload

sudo systemctl restart opensky-feeder

sudo systemctl restart fr24feed

NOTE:
For opensky feeder to get feed from dump1090-mutability, you must add --net in "Process arguments" on following page in your browser:

IP-of-Pi:8754/settings.html

By default this field contains:
--gain -10

After adding --net it will become
--gain -10 --net

TUI UK Airways Flight Errors

TUI UK Airways is the UK based charter arm of the holiday group TUI.

The summer timetable runs from 01/05/19 to 31/10/19, and the following problems have been noted for flight numbers/alpha numerical flight numbers/departure/arrival times:-

BY7358 BHX-PMI alpha numerical flight number is TOM358
BY7359 PMI-BHX alpha numerical flight number is TOM359
BY7411 DBV-BHX alpha numerical flight number is TOM411

arrival/departure times - it appears that around 20% of all BY (TOM) flights for the summer 2019 period are showing incorrectly on FR24. TUI update their timetables around March/April 2019 and it appear that the information you are using is not the most up to date from TUI, some flight arrivals/departure times are even wrong by a staggering 7 hours!! Please can you contact TUI and get the latest/updated timetables to use as soon as possible?

Google Flight, OAG, TUI's own website and the airports websites all show the correct times, please can you now update your records?

Hi,

The problem I have is when I go to the FR page to activate my Pi there is nothing shown in the list. Anyone come across this problem and know the solution ?
