Hi I hope someone can help
On the app for my iPhone each aircraft displays it's airline logo but I cannot find this feature on the website. Does anyone know if it's available and how to enable it? I'm on the Silver settings.

Thanks

FR24 problems

I've been a Gold member for years, but lately I've noticed several issues. I've always used it in Google Chrome, which is up to date.

- I know longer see the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Aircraft I have followed in the past no longer show their photo when they used to.
- 3D view is not working, always get a error message now
- Aircraft are showing wrong. Right now I'm following a DC-10 (TNKR911) and it's showing as a Cessna 172H Skyhawk
- Planes showing no call sign when they used to.
- It's not showing the labels I've selected properly. And only showing 2 of the 4.

I'm baffled here. Never had these problems in the past. Ideas?

Can i get a text list of the aircraft in view?

I have a PiAware image installation, also running FR24feed.

I notice that FR24 provides a list that I would like to be able to grab as text.
http://localhost:8754/tracked.html

FR24 Feeder Tracked Aircraft List
Updated: 17:52:01 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time)
ModeS: 71BE24 Callsign: KAL213
Lat: 37.7249
Long: -123.7923
Alt: 34975ft
SQW: 1455

ModeS: A28904 Callsign: UAL1451
Lat: 37.8682
Long: -122.6399
Alt: 13400ft
SQW: 6646

I'd like to grab that sort of info as a text output, but "curl" doesn't catch it.

function update_aircraft() {
$.ajax({url:'/flights.json?time=' + $.now(), dataType:'json', type:'get', data: $.now() }).done(function(data){update_aircraft_cb(data);}) ;
}

Is there a command line I could use to grab the data from dump1090-fa?

rpi - no aircrafts tracked

Hi everyone,
I've installed all the software however I've been having some issues with capturing real aircraft.
Through the performance graphs it appears some messages are caught but nothing happens..

The dongle is a Nooelec E4000, with attached antenna.
Raspi 3B+

Lead me to find out how to fix this?

I wanted to post links to the performance graphs, but I am not yet able since I came straight to find out how to share :P

Feeding by solar

I have a large yard, and am thinking about putting a rpi feeder with an antenna at the highest point. An extention cord is not practical, but here in the deep south we have a lot of sunshine. So I was thinking about perhaps solar, providing the cost is not obscene.

Anybody have any experience with this? Setup? Cost? Reliability?

Feeding data from Mobile Command Post

Hello All,

Looking at doing a new project and looking for input.

I would like to setup a Pi with SDR for feeding data in my local Search and Rescue Teams Mobile Command Post, the obvious issue with this is the command post moves and therefore the GPS location changes regularly. Is there anything currently built in to support changing this without human interaction(I.E. hook a GPS to my PI and have it update location on startup?

Thanks,
Scoutcamper

Flightaware feed vs Flightradar24 feed

I have fr24feed running and also piaware. On dump1090-fa I see airplanes over 240nm, but on "Live flight tracker" on flightradar24.com I see only 233.. Does the plane have to be visible a certain amount of time before it is registered on flightradar24?

Automated Installation of AcarSDeco2 on RPi

$

(1) Easy Installation - Just copy-paste one command to run bash script and it does everything.

(2) Automatic start - systemd service automatically starts it at boot/reboot.

(3) Easy monitoring & control - Provides commands systemctl status, systemctl stop, systemctl start, and systemctl restart.

(4) Easy configuration - Provides a separate config file in simple format, each config item on a separate line, starting with --

(5) Blacklisting of rtl-sdr - The installation script creates a blacklist file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtl-sdr.conf with required blacklist entries, preventing error: failed to connect/open rtl-sdr device.

Hi guys

On the website, I can only the historic flights of one aircraft at one time. How to see all the historic flights of all aircraft of an airline at one time? If this is possible, is there any way that I can download an excel file that contains the data?

Also, is it possible to set up custom alert on my Desktop PC

Many thanks

R-Pi 3+ keeps dying. Good time to upgrade to R-Pi 4?

My R-Pi 3+ keeps dying. I'm not sure what it's problem is, but it's been really hot here lately and the R-Pi is in a hot attic and that probably isn't helping. To get it back online, I just unplug it and plug it back in again and it boots up and it's fine for another 8-10 hours or so. I checked it with a non-contact temperature gun and it read about 120 degrees. R-Pi says its good to 150 degrees or thereabouts.

I'm considering replacing it with an R-Pi 4. Does anyone have any comparative experience with both or suggestions? I know that I could re-locate it to a cooler environment, but that's easier said than done. I've seen mini fans advertised, but the R-Pi folks say that it isn't necessary.

Proper Host IP?

I just reloaded FR24 and now my Status is "online-no data"

The hardware all looks good. If I do a FR24feed Status command, I see that I am getting a never ending "Connecting to unknown receiver via (tcp://127.0.0.1:30002)

I do not know what that address is. Its not mine. What is the proper host IP? This should not be my my local IP, correct?

Choosing CoolMath Moto X3M Is Simple
The motorbike will move through different positions and you maynot permit the motorcycle collide anywhere in the event that you don't need to fall and lose. Balancing the bike is actually tough and fast reaction skills are required. So you should focus and adjust the bike so the vehicle isn't overturned off the track and fall in the water or across the entire corner of the rock. Enjoy, and secure bike riding! Perform cool tricks and stunts to show that you are among the very best dirt bike rider ever. If you decide on correct racer for the right level it is possible to pass levels easily. Professional races in this way have rules to follow and are rather keen on giving all players a good play and fighting chance.

Dynamic Range improvement.

For some time I’ve been using a discone antenna a few metres above the house roof with around 15m of good quality coax feeding a Pro Stick Plus with reasonable but not great results.
I recently decided to upgrade, replacing the discone with a FlightAware aerial and a Rtl SDR-Radio Blog filtered LNA a few metres from the antenna. The original 15m coax still delivers the amplified signals to the receiver.

First of all the Pro stick plus had to go as its internal LNA was now being swamped with too much signal, so my RTL V3 dongle took its place with some improvement.
Despite running the dongle at 0db gain, aircraft taking off a few miles away were still dropping out so this was eventually fixed by inserting a 20db attenuator at the dongle end of the coax.

The system is working fine and is much better than the original setup, but there is clearly a trade off between reliable decoding of strong local signals and getting higher message counts with longer range which is presumably down to the dynamic range the dongle is capable of handling.

I wonder if anyone has progressed to alternatives such as the Airspy and managed better local and distant reception.

[FAIL] Receiver: down ... failed!

Hi

I am a total newbi to Raspberry Pi.

After seeing a webpage describing how easy it is to feed data, I bought a 3B+ and a RTL-SDR V3-based kit. I setup the Pi with a new install, updated the system with sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade-dist.

I then ran the command

Code:

sudo bash -c "$(wget -O - hxxp://repo.feed.flightradar24.com/install_fr24_rpi.sh)"
to install the feed. Followed the questions and filled out everything and I ended up with a working installation, or so I thought.

I can access the webpage on the ip-address:8754 but it does not feed any aircraft.

At first I checked for the fr24feed-status and get the following result:

Code:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ fr24feed-status
[ ok ] FR24 Feeder/Decoder Process: running.
[ ok ] FR24 Stats Timestamp: 2019-08-10 12:19:18.
[ ok ] FR24 Link: connected [UDP].
[ ok ] FR24 Radar: T-VHHH169.
[ ok ] FR24 Tracked AC:.
[FAIL] Receiver: down ... failed!
[FAIL] FR24 MLAT: not running ... failed!

So, the Receiver is down, but I'm not quite sure as to why or how to fix it. When testing the dongle, it seems it is fine and working as described in a post here:

Code:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo systemctl stop fr24feed
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo systemctl stop dump1090-mutability
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ rtl_test -t

When running the fr24feed directly I do get the following output with the ERROR: rmmod: ERROR: Module dvb_usb_rtl28xxu is not currently loaded. Is this the problem?

Code:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo systemctl start dump1090-mutability

Aircraft colors

I'm using http://[IP OF PI]/dump1090/gmap.html to see the airplanes I'm tracking.

Version 1.15 of dump1090-mutability is the decoder.

I might have used the Pi Aware image when I remember there being a color code that told the altitude of the aircraft.

All I'm seeing now is the colors and of course if I click on them I can see details such as altitude, etc.

Is this just the difference in not using the Pi Aware image?

Thanks in advance
