Hi I hope someone can help
On the app for my iPhone each aircraft displays it's airline logo but I cannot find this feature on the website. Does anyone know if it's available and how to enable it? I'm on the Silver settings.

Thanks

I have a Raspberry PI reciever which provide we with CallSign and ModeS for overflying flight.

I want to display overflying flight on a (RaspberryPi) monitor. Are there any open or free API which can give me additional info like flightnumber, origin, destination based on the callsign?

Receiver application

Really guys?

I've applied for a receiver from an area where the MLAT coverage is poor to none, see attachments, and my application has been rejected.
Is anyone really looking at these locations, checking if there's some coverage missing, etc? Or just looking at a spreadsheet how many DVBT receivers are in the area and rejecting the applications accordingly.
My actual setup started to deteriorate so I've decided no to upgrade it anymore, after 6 years of feeding, and apply for official receivers.
Interestingly others have approved it, but fr24 rejected me.

Can i get a text list of the aircraft in view?

I have a PiAware image installation, also running FR24feed.

I notice that FR24 provides a list that I would like to be able to grab as text.
http://localhost:8754/tracked.html

FR24 Feeder Tracked Aircraft List
Updated: 17:52:01 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time)
ModeS: 71BE24 Callsign: KAL213
Lat: 37.7249
Long: -123.7923
Alt: 34975ft
SQW: 1455

ModeS: A28904 Callsign: UAL1451
Lat: 37.8682
Long: -122.6399
Alt: 13400ft
SQW: 6646

I'd like to grab that sort of info as a text output, but "curl" doesn't catch it.

function update_aircraft() {
$.ajax({url:'/flights.json?time=' + $.now(), dataType:'json', type:'get', data: $.now() }).done(function(data){update_aircraft_cb(data);}) ;
}

Is there a command line I could use to grab the data from dump1090-fa?

rpi - no aircrafts tracked

Hi everyone,
I've installed all the software however I've been having some issues with capturing real aircraft.
Through the performance graphs it appears some messages are caught but nothing happens..

The dongle is a Nooelec E4000, with attached antenna.
Raspi 3B+

Lead me to find out how to fix this?

I wanted to post links to the performance graphs, but I am not yet able since I came straight to find out how to share :P

Feeding by solar

I have a large yard, and am thinking about putting a rpi feeder with an antenna at the highest point. An extention cord is not practical, but here in the deep south we have a lot of sunshine. So I was thinking about perhaps solar, providing the cost is not obscene.

Anybody have any experience with this? Setup? Cost? Reliability?

Feeding data from Mobile Command Post

Hello All,

Looking at doing a new project and looking for input.

I would like to setup a Pi with SDR for feeding data in my local Search and Rescue Teams Mobile Command Post, the obvious issue with this is the command post moves and therefore the GPS location changes regularly. Is there anything currently built in to support changing this without human interaction(I.E. hook a GPS to my PI and have it update location on startup?

Thanks,
Scoutcamper

Flightaware feed vs Flightradar24 feed

I have fr24feed running and also piaware. On dump1090-fa I see airplanes over 240nm, but on "Live flight tracker" on flightradar24.com I see only 233.. Does the plane have to be visible a certain amount of time before it is registered on flightradar24?

Automated Installation of AcarSDeco2 on RPi

$

(1) Easy Installation - Just copy-paste one command to run bash script and it does everything.

(2) Automatic start - systemd service automatically starts it at boot/reboot.

(3) Easy monitoring & control - Provides commands systemctl status, systemctl stop, systemctl start, and systemctl restart.

(4) Easy configuration - Provides a separate config file in simple format, each config item on a separate line, starting with --

(5) Blacklisting of rtl-sdr - The installation script creates a blacklist file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtl-sdr.conf with required blacklist entries, preventing error: failed to connect/open rtl-sdr device.

FOR DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS:
https://github.com/abcd567a/ad2/blob/master/README.md

NOTE:
AcarSDeco2 requires a dedicated DVB-T dongle.

If you install it on a RPi already running dump1090 and one DVB-T dongle, then you will need to plugin a second dongle for AcarSDeco2, and serialize both dongles, one serial-number 00000101 and other serial-number 00000102

Code:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rtl-sdr

rtl_eeprom -s 00000101 -d 0
rtl_eeprom -s 00000102 -d 1

After serialization, unplug, then replug both dongles.

Use these serial numbers in config files of dump1090 and AcarSDeco2.

If you have not installed dump1090 and have installed only AcarSDeco2, then only one DVB-T dongle is required. In this case no need to serialize the dongle.

Hi, is there a basic description which explains the flight history page? For example how are the green/yellow/red colors determined? What does STA stand for? I checked the FAQs but didnt see anything. Thanks in advance.

Start of my RPi journey

After using FR24 for many years, time for me to supply data for FR24. I am putting together a shopping list. Looking at this Raspberry Pi https://raspberry.piaustralia.com.au...y-pi-4-model-b , what else do I need to get it working, apart from the obvious additional items...eg,
Heatsinks for 'hot' parts
RPi case of some sort.If possible, prefer no fan.
Good quality power supply, because of 24/7 operation
4GB MicroSD card for the Pi24 software. Is there any benefit of a larger capacity card?
ADS-B USB dongle receiver
Antenna with connection to suit the dongle. Initialy the small internal antenna will do to get everything working. Then it is onto the roof.
HDMI cable to connect RPi to monitor.
Do you need a keyboard attachment?
Ethernet cable to connect RPi to network
MicroSD Card Reader for connection to computer and download image

Is it 'better' to get the latest RPi version 4? or will any version do the job? Do the later versions do the job easier and also better for setup?

What is the benefit of larger RAM, as I see 1, 2 or 4 MB RAM.

I don't fancy the RPi and power supply in my roof space, and also, temps up there exceed 50C for several months a year, so I will have a few choices:
(a) Extend my coax to be approx. 20 metres to the RPi. Thoughts on RG58 or RG400 coax, and or preamp?
(b) Shorten coax to about 10 metres, placing the RPi in a room under the antenna mount and run a cat6 cable from RPi 10 metres to router. Due to wall insulation, wifi terrible.

Looking forward to my journey.

AirNav RadarBox FlightStick - Advanced USB ADS-B Receiver

Installed everything following the instructions. Seems to start up ok but on the webpage I get:

Aircraft Tracked:

MLAT running: N/A

And in the logfile I get repeated:

This is immediately after a sudo reboot

Any hints - very much appreciated!

Hello all,

I have the Raspberry Pi 4 running the Raspbian Buster.
I have installed dump1090 and Fr24feed. The problem is that there is no aircraft shown, neither on the ip/dump1090/gmap.html, nor accessing the ip:8754

When I run fre24feed-status I get:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ fr24feed-status
[ ok ] FR24 Feeder/Decoder Process: running.
[ ok ] FR24 Stats Timestamp: 2019-09-08 13:41:14.
[ ok ] FR24 Link: connected [UDP].
[ ok ] FR24 Radar: T-LPCO40.
[ ok ] FR24 Tracked AC:.
[ ok ] Receiver: connected (0 MSGS/ SYNC).
[FAIL] FR24 MLAT: not running ... failed!

Can you please help me?

Thank you and best regards

Thank you.
