I heavily rely on bookmarks while using FR24. Is it possible to generate a "bookmark link"? I would love to use this to automatically load custom maps on browser start up! I really hope there is a feature like this... :)

Why isn't my FR24 being selected ?

What is the criteria FR24 servers choose a FR24 receiver to use ? I am noticing that the receiver I have installed at home isn't being used often by FR24, although it's fully operational since I can check it's running on it's local page and also track how far planes can be tracked using VirtualRadar.

My station is a FlightRadar 24 receiver: F-SBFI2. It seems that F-SBFI2 is not used as a data source much often.

Any insights will be much appreciated.

Thank you

How do I adjust the gain the right way

So today I've switched from the generic USB dongle to prostick plus with fa filter and wow it made a huge difference, I've already turned down the gain to 40 as it was mentioned I would have to turn it down.

My question is how do I determine exactly where the gain should be? I tried to search but the only thing I find are for piaware users that have a formula they get with numbers from their logs which apparently I can't access in the fr24 install.

Right now, if it means anything, only about half the aircrafts tracked are uploaded according to the 8754 status page, and I have the gain set for 40

Feeder location by GPS

Hi all

I have a Pi 3 setup with gps for location as I want it to be mobile between home and work. Piaware can see that gpsd is running and uses the feeder location automatically - can the FR24 feed do the same?

Thanks

I live in the USA and it seems like I'm not getting any alert anymore From my side of the world. I'm getting alert from all over the world daily just none from North or South America. Does this mean we are not having any planes having problems or what? Thanks

FR24feed logging

$

Hi,

I'm running the Windows version of fr24feed on my Win10 machine at home, had the "Feeder Tracked Aircraft" webpage open the other day and saw an aircraft displayed there that interested me. It disappeared before I could note down the details, and wasn't showing on the FR24 website (no lat/long).

I have logging enabled ("save up to 72 hours and rotate every 24"), but I cannot find a log being written anywhere on my computer at all. I tried running it both as an administrator and normally, but it didn't make a difference - still can't find any logs.

I learned after some searching that Virtual Radar Server with a couple of plugins might allow me to log the aircraft my machine sees. I am able to see them on the web-based VRS display, but I'm having trouble using the 'database editor' plugin to see anything, at all. So, this isn't helping me either.

What I want to do is review a text file/spreadsheet/CSV/something similar which will say that T-YYC52 saw C012345, C2ABCDE, and AE7890 etc, and the date/time. Is there any way to do that with this software or something else I can obtain?

Thanks in advance!

I'm quite interested in these aircraft and have been watching for any going to Edinburgh but with no luck. I know one has been to Newcastle and another to Glasgow (I was working so I've missed it coming and going). Anyone else watching these aircraft with interest?

FR24Feed Not Connecting to SBS1 on USB

$

Hi All,
I've been offline for a while as I've not had time to investigate the issues.
This last week I decided it was time to start trying to feed again, so downloaded the latest version of FR24Feeder (v1.0.18-9) for Windows, deleted the .ini file to start a fresh setup and filled in the required info on initial start up.
Saved the .ini file and restarted FR24Feeder but couldn't get it to connect to my SBS1 via USB. Basestation connects fine using USB but with Basestation closed and nothing else accessing the COM port the SBS1 is on, FR24Feeder just shows "cannot connect to receiver".
I reverted to connecting through Basestation, using 127.0.0.1:3006 and that seemed to work, but it didn't look right. I had the two green icons on the FR24Feeder and the software said it was connected to Basestation but it only reported ping data in the feed, no aircraft.

Cut a long story short; I messed around with it for a few days, searched this forum for ideas where I saw a note in the FR24Feeder FAQ for the SBS family "May '16 - Possible issue with 18-5 release and not reading SBS data as expected below. Older releases appear OK". So I went back to my previous version of FR24Feeder (v1.0.16-11) and tried that, connected to the SBS1 via USB first go and uploading aircraft data again. :D

So, it looks like the current Windows version of FR24Feeder still isn't connecting to the USB port for the SBS1, or via Basestation on port 30006. I don't know about the SBS1-ER or SBS3 as I don't have either of those.
If it helps; my PC is running Windows 10 64bit.
Oh, one other thing I noticed when trying to setup using Basestation - In the FR24Feeder settings I specified Host/IP: localhost:30006. When FR24feeder started it converted "localhost" to IP 1.0.0.127, when I specified 127.0.01:30006 in the config it connected to Basestation. So for some reason it's looking for the reverse of the correct IP address.

I hope this help with solving this issue and if anyone needs any other info, or you want me to try anything then let me know.

Cheers, Martin.

Linux vs. Windows - very different results

I've had a Windows-based system feeding data to FR24 for some years now and have recently (with encouragement from the site helpdesk) updated the Windows software to the latest version. It's running well, and I typically see about 370 aircraft a day.

I've set up a parallel Linux system running Mint 18 (with help from various people here), which uses the site version of dump1090 inclulded in the Linux download. Again, it's now running well, but sees only about 250 aircraft a day.

My question is, why the difference? The hardware set-up is identical on both systems, and while the two antennas have slightly different views of the sky, not enough to cause this sort of difference.

I'm suspecting it's something to do with the gain setting on the RTL-SDR dongle, but how to access this? Before I installed the site software, I had a version of dump1090 running which could set gain by a command line switch, but the site software won't run alongside this version, and I haven't found any documentatiion about its command line parameters, if any. Do these dongles store their gain settings in firmware, or does gain have to be set on every run of dump1090? I'm wondering if there is a way to set the gain, and then have the site feeding software running.

How does MLAT timing work without GPS?

$

MLAT relies the time difference of arrival from various modes messages based on the speed of light. To compute this time difference requires extremely precise timing between the various base stations.

Traditionally, MLAT calculations have used the timing signal from GPS satellites to precisely determine the time of arrival. However, the new Fr24 pi software does not need GPS to participate in MLAT calculations. I understand that users need to input their own coordinates - no issue there - but how is the timing so precisely computed? There must be a timing signal coming from somewhere?

I have a problem while feeding data the FlightRadar24. I have this problem on screen and my status is "offline"

I have a NooElec NESDR Mini 2+ USB Dongle with an RTL2832U chipset
I'm running Windows at the moment but I've tried Linux and same results
My fr24feed version is 1.0.18-9
I run the feeder on a virtual machine on Proxmox but I tried several VMs and even on the server itself and unfortunately didn't work.
My VM was just installed for this setup (only zadig and the f24feed software)
Tried the same procedures on different VMs and on bare metal

Config page:
receiver="dvbt"
fr24key="(secret)"
path="mr-dump1090.exe"
bs="yes"
raw="yes"
logmode="1"
mlat="no"
mlat-without-gps="no"

Error:
[reader][i]Connected to the receiver, authenticating
[reader][i]Authenticated, processing messages
[reader][i]Connection terminated

I really hope you could help me please...

Hi,
there is a 767 (bpa001t) making many circuits in LIPO, but it is shown weirdly on fr24! I'm sure that it's doing circuits here because I can hear it :)
What could be the issue? All other plaes are correct, and the gps position shown is actually wrong!

Delta expands Comfort+ to regional flights

$

Delta introduced Delta Comfort+ in March 2015 as the airline’s industry-leading extra legroom product experience that offers Sky Priority boarding with dedicated overhead bin space, complimentary premium beverages and snacks on flights over 250 miles and sleep kits on long-haul international flights.

Since then, the popularity of Delta Comfort+ has surged and Delta has continued to increase the number of Delta Comfort+ seats to all mainline aircraft. Earlier this year, the airline also expanded the product to CRJ-200 aircraft.

Aligning with Delta’s focus on improving choice for customers and enhancing the on-board experience, the airline is now continuing to expand Delta Comfort+ on some of its regional aircraft, adding more Delta Comfort+ seats on its E-175, E-170, CRJ-900 and CRJ-700 aircraft.

The additional Delta Comfort+ seats are currently on sale on E-175 and CRJ-900 aircraft for flights scheduled May 29, 2017, and beyond, and on sale for E-170 and CRJ-700 aircraft for flights scheduled June 15, 2017, and beyond.

“Customers have told us that they value having a choice in their onboard experience,” said Tim Mapes, Delta’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “Expanding Delta Comfort+ to more of our regional aircraft is one of the many ways Delta is making one of our most popular products available to more people, more often.”

In the last two years Delta Comfort+ capacity, including mainline and regional, has grown 17 percent.

Delta Comfort+ is most easily purchased when shopping via delta.com, the FlyDelta mobile app, or with a Delta Reservations Specialist. Delta continues to collaborate with its joint venture partners to ensure customers can view availability on combined itineraries. Additionally, Delta remains engaged with distribution partners to allow Delta Comfort+ to be purchased through travel agents and in consumer direct shopping displays. For Delta-operated international flights not included in this update, Delta Comfort+ will continue to be sold as an add-on seating option.

Delta Comfort+ is offered on nearly all single-cabin and two-cabin Delta Connection aircraft.

This enhancement is part of the airline’s multi-billion dollar investment in the customer experience that includes a cabin modernization program featuring new seats, seatback entertainment systems with free entertainment, high-capacity overhead bins, access to Wi-Fi on nearly all flights, free Main Cabin meals on select flights, upgraded free Main Cabin snacks, chef-curated meals in Delta One, a seasonal wine program, an Alessi-designed collection of serviceware in Delta One and First Class, and more.

Delta has also made significant investments in the customer experience on the ground, in addition to plans to add nearly 250 new aircraft to its fleet in coming years. These include new Delta Sky Club locations in Denver, Atlanta, and Seattle, and Club renovations in Nashville, Dallas, Newark, and Minneapolis-St. Paul, airport enhancement programs in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York and Salt Lake City, and the testing and implementation of an enhanced boarding process in Atlanta.
