Column at left side of web page not wide enough in certain browsers

When I visit the FlightRadar24 web site and click on a specific flight a column is opened on the left side of the screen that provides detailed information about the flight such as departure time, estimated arrival time, speed, altitude, etc. I am finding that in some browsers this column is not quite wide enough to display all the information presented. I've noticed this problem in both Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer (latest version in each case). Yes, I am aware that Internet Explorer is not recommended. My preferred browser is actually Edge, but when I noticed the problem I tested Internet Explorer just to see if it is also affected and found that it is. I installed Chrome just to test this and the problem does not occur in Chrome.

Are there any known solutions for this when using Edge, maybe a particular font that I need to install?

Additional Information:

Test System #1
I am running Windows 10 v 1803 (latest version) with all the latest updates.
Graphics Adapter: Nvidia GeForce 1050Ti
Display Resolution: 2560 x 1440

Test System #2
The second machine I have tested on is an HP Spectre x360 model BL012DX laptop with HD Graphics 620 and a 3840 x 2160 (4k) display resolution. The same issue is evident there.

Question about FR24 Database

$

Hello,
Questions about updating the aircraft database on Fr24.
1 / Difference between airline and operator? What to do when an airplane belongs to a rental company and it flies everyday for a regular airline?
2 / Why on Fr24, sometimes we have the names of companies associated with their aircraft (example private fleet of Google or the French car manufacturer RENAULT) and sometimes, the status is "Private Owner"?

Thank you but I asked the question on the forum and no one has ever answered.:o

Is it possible to view a past map of all flights? I ask because last week I was on a flight from Montreal to Vancouver, I happened to glance out the window ahead of me and another jet liner passed at an angle in front of us. I managed to get a photo out of my window a few seconds later but it was already too far to make out what airline it was. I can see, however, that it doesn't appear to be either below or above our flight level. I'd love to be able to view the activity for that day. The photo I took shows some very prominent geographical features so I can pinpoint exactly where we were when this happened.

Earlier today I noticed a very strange aircraft track - directly over me and when checking FR24 could see it was ver, very odd.

I wanted to ask for comments on this, but cannot find a suitable forum to post in. Can anyone suggest where I should put the post?

WHY ISN'T GOLD EDITION REPORTING OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE?

WHY ISN'T GOLD EDITION REPORTING OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE?

I 'm an admin for a Facebook group the focuses intently on aircraft. I have recommended to these 563 members that they purchase a subscription to the Gold Edition because of some select features which would be very beneficial to them.

The first person who did so reported that the feature that provides temperature data for any given aircraft consistently showed N/A in his region of Ohio and was not reporting any of this particular data whatsoever on any aircraft he queried. This happened days ago and he's not reported any changes since. Can you tell me why this may have been so in order for me to give this information to my 563 members? I have contacted FR directly but received no answer. I've posed this question on FR's Fakebook page and received no answer. I'm hoping this forum can be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help. I couldn't find this issue through forum searches.

Can Network Connection be made through Cell Towers?

Was wondering if a Rasp Pi or laptop can be connected to the FR24 via the cellular phone towers. If so what wold need to be installed on an Android device.

I am feeding currently from down in a river valley but would like to drive up a mountain and test out my range.

Emirates has launched it's premium full service flights from Dubai to London Stansted Airport on 08 June 2018. Stansted is well known for a wide range of low-cost airlines, so the addition of Emirates is a welcome one.

This video captures the first arrival of EK033 DXB - STN on 08/06/18 with water arch salute.

Email alerts if feed is down (RPi)?

I had a power outage last week, and just realized today that my fr24feed wasn't working. My PiAware feed was working fine.

The issue was a collision between the dump1090 that both want to use.

Is there any email alert available to let me know if fr24feed isn't sending data? PiAware offers such a thing.

non-blocked ADSB traffic verified posted to FR24 - on local piaware map but not FR24

My feeders are separated by 7.5 nm, and non-blocked ADSB aircraft just drop off the FR24 map below about 1500 ft AGL even though I am feeding them from two separate airports.

Most of the time they overlap, so the same aircraft would be fed from two separate sharing keys until very close to ground.

Each PiAware's FR24 local statistics, FR24 sharing statistics, and heatmap are all good. I know the aircraft are being transmitted by reviewing the FR24 log on each of the Pi's. FR24 is just taking port 30002 from an existing dump1090-fa. All PiAware logs are good, and when I review message output from dump1090, they are good.

I am able to follow ADSB aircraft during taxi at both airports using the local map on PiAware. Both airports are covered by the Class C terminal approach radar of one of them. Chicago Center picks up around 5,000 ft MSL for ATC handoffs depending on the direction of flight.

Apologies if this has been covered before, but multiple searches using vBulletin haven't been very productive.

It doesn't make sense why the better data isn't being displayed from contributors. There are many things I like better about FR24.

Thanks

Aeroflot AFL2578 - airming for Heathrow

I live just north of Heathrow and occasionally get go-arounds coming straight overhead and other aircraft en-route to central London including VVIP helicopters so close that I can see the occupants of them including Marine One escorted by Ospreys.

On Friday 8th June at about 12:02 (BST), I was in the garden when an A330 came overhead on a strange track, both direction and altitude which I guessed was maybe 5000 to 6000 feet and there was something very odd about it.

So, back at my desk I check for aircraft in the vicinity and found Aeroflot SU 2578 was the aircraft in question. It was in the hold over Brentwood in Essex the released and was on a track of 265 to take it across to the West of London and join the approach in over Windsor. When overhead Enfield, it appeared to make a significant left turn to heading 237 aiming direct for the Heathrow terminal and continued on the course for a few minutes until over Hayes and close to the M4, when a very sharp right turn was executed, bring it right over here. The aircraft continued north westerly before turning left again to join the path of the original track of 265

I cannot post a link to the data for teh flight, however, the flight reference is: su2578#11a6e03e

Any thoughts on what might have been happening - it certainly appeared strange and the tracking confirms it.

1090MHz antenna and Filter...

Hello to everyone!

I'm building a Raspberry Pi Flightradar Feeder.
I am going to use a 1090MHz antenna at around 5dB.

Do you think is a good idea to use and a 1090MHz bandpass filter together with this antenna or its not mandatory?
The improvement between a stand alone antenna and an antenna together with a filter is huge or just slightly better?

Kind regards,
John

Plane spotting research project at Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester and Amsterdam

$

Hi,

My name’s Phil – I’m a Master’s student from London. For my dissertation I’m conducting a study on the history/evolution of plane spotting, focusing particularly on Heathrow and how the hobby has changed since the 9/11 attacks, the closure of official observation decks, the commercialisation of airports and the introduction of social media channels and new technologies such as FR24. I‘m referring to plane spotting in the broad sense of taking photos, videos and/or writing down registration numbers of aircraft.

As part of the study I plan to spend time with spotters/enthusiasts at plane spotting locations (both official spaces and unofficial spaces around the perimeter of airports). In order to make comparisons between airports in terms of spotting opportunities I’ll be visiting Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester and Amsterdam Schiphol over the next few weeks.

I’m fairly new to the world of plane spotting (although I’ve always been interested in aviation) and so I’m writing to see if anyone would like to meet me at any of the above airports to show me the ropes and share their knowledge, stories and experiences of plane spotting. Any amount of time that you could give would be much appreciated e.g. a morning or afternoon at Myrtle Avenue. I posted on this forum a few months ago seeking help on a similar but smaller project.

All participants will be made anonymous in the study.

If anyone is interested and would like to help out, I’d be delighted to hear from you.

Many thanks

Phil

Hiding General Bookmarks?

Is there any way in the web site version to hide the General Bookmarks or move them below My Bookmarks? I never use the general list, relying instead on a number of tailored bookmarks of my own and it would be nice not to have to scroll down to them every time I want to use one. I have a Gold account.
